What We Do

Fixed Asset Disposal specialise in the secure collection and disposal of redundant or outmoded I.T. equipment.  We operate a nationwide collection service and are of course licensed by the Environment Agency. The level of service afforded by every client is at the forefront of our core values.

We have a large client base and offer a nationwide service; no job is too big or too small. There are a wide range of services available within the Information Destruction industry and establishing whether a security provider complies to the relevant National and European standards should be an important part of the procurement process for companies of all sizes, to ensure the quality and reliability of the supplier selected.

The Government’s WEEE directive, and subsequent legislation, not only governs the collection and transportation, but also, and perhaps more importantly, the method of disposal of all electrical and electronic waste. Fixed Asset Disposal adhere absolutely to every section of the WEEE directive and stringently follow the waste hierarchy

On and Off site Data Destruction

Fixed Asset Disposal offer both Onsite or Offsite Data sanitization. Hard Drives, Tapes, video tapes, CDs DVDs and Mobile Phones can be dealt with securely.

CESG IS5 Data Wiping – Onsite or Offsite wiping of your hard drives by one of our trained operatives using specialised software erases all traces of information stored on the media making recovery of data impossible with certification per unit.

A full report of the wiping process is generated with all details stored of equipment wiped.

Many other suppliers degauss your drives, we don't as this is not a guaranteed way of securing destruction of physical media, instead we demanufacture each unit and physically hole punch each unit twice to ensure secure data destruction.

We are confident that our commitment to secure data destruction and WEEE disposal and above all in minimising the impact of our activities on the environment, combined with our years of experience and specialist equipment make us the ideal partner for a business that demands a cost effective service from a company that takes its environmental responsibilities seriously.

How We Do It

Call our team on 01344 535255 to book a service, unlike other operators we don't have a website form for quotes as each customer has different requirements and we like to provide a personal bespoke service.

Data Centre decommissioning/upgrade lifecycle, IT recycling, WEEE disposal, Laptop recycling and much more. We offer a bespoke service and we will tailor our services to meet your requirements.

The collection will be made on the day of your choice using one of our vehicles. Our staff will remove the hardware and deliver it to our secure recycling facilities, in addition if you have hard drives, discs or tapes that need to be sanitized, this can be arranged to be removed in secure tote boxes to be sanitized and disposed of with certification.

All our operatives wear company uniforms and are security vetted as part of our ongoing commitment to reducing waste. Asset lists can be provided to show a trail of items collected, transported and disposed of.

Our waste collection and processing site is licensed by the Environment Agency (NC2/061045) for the disposal of IT and WEEE waste and we are closely monitored by the agency to ensure that we follow the strictest guidelines.

All equipment is recycled, closely following Best Available Treatment Recovery and Recycling Techniques (BATRRT) and treatment of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). We will recycle or re-sell the items that we collect from your site, but we don’t simply send the items on to a 3rd party for recycling everything is done at our own secure site.

There are few recycling companies that can make this claim, but we are confident when we say that we have a 0% policy that NO item will go to landfill.

Our Responsibilities

Disposing WEEE (Waste Electric & Electrionic Equipment) is covered under UK Law and to legally transport and recycle WEEE waste you must be licensed by the Environment Agency which is signed off with a site audit. Any IT recycling company that offers this service must hold a Waste Carriers Licence (Upper Tear) and a Waste Recycling, Refurbish and Repair License. Once registered with the E.A, holders are audited on a ongoing basis to ensure that they conform to the strict guidelines of their permit.

All WEEE waste should be recycled in accordance with Guidance on Best Available Treatment, Recovery and Recycling Techniques (BATRRT) and treatment of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) guidance.

The movement of WEEE waste must be accompanied by a Waste Transfer Note and if in the case of Lead Acid Batteries, Cathode Ray Tube Monitors (CRT) and TFT Flat Monitors a Hazardous Waste Transfer Note which will be issued by Fixed Asset Disposal.

Under the Data Protection Act 1998 any business processing personal data must comply with the Eight enforceable principles of good practice. When Disposing of redundant IT equipment, it is important to ensure all personal records will be deleted. In addition, there may be other sensitive information stored such as access codes, financial details and photographs.

This has been amended with the introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) is a regulation by which the European Parliament, the Council of the European Union and the European Commission intend to strengthen and unify data protection for all individuals within the European Union (EU). It also addresses the export of personal data outside the EU. The GDPR aims primarily to give control back to citizens and residents over their personal data and to simplify the regulatory environment for international business by unifying the regulation within the EU. When the GDPR takes effect, it will replace the data protection directive (officially Directive 95/46/EC) of 1995. The regulation was adopted on 27 April 2016. It becomes enforceable from 25 May 2018 after a two-year transition period and, unlike a directive, it does not require national governments to pass any enabling legislation, and is thus directly binding and applicable

It is our responsibility to ensure the removal of all Data, Software and configuration info from your system and we guarantee this will be completed in every case. If required we can supply a full audit trail of the process.

Ensuring that the agency is fulfilling legal and other obligations in respect of the law may be achieved via the disposal contract agreed by you and the agency. It may also be achieved by the agency sending your company an ‘End of Life’ certificate for each item disposed of, Certificate of Destruction and Waste Transfer Note.
